[Buzz pay](https://pos.albylabs.com/) is a Point of Sale terminal you can hook up to alby hub. You can run Alby Hub on Start9 or Umbrel or pay Get Alby to host it for you. Then you can begin taking bitcoin payments at your brick and mortar business or add a link to it on your blog.

I know a brewer who accepts bitcoin using Aqua Wallet. It's a good wallet, but the problem is the brewer needs to be in the brewery to accept payments. He can't just give the Aqua wallet keys to his beer tenders because the beer tenders could easily rug-pull the brewer. The solution is to run a lightning node, but that's a huge pain in the ass and it's easy to lose sats if you don't know what you're doing. I've lost sats doing this. It's not feasible unless you're a cypherpunk because cypherpunk's write code.

## BuzzPay Fixes This
Buzz Pay fixes this. It's a self custodial point of sale that outspurces the lightning channel management to Alby Hub. Pay a fee ans they open a channel for you with inbound liquididty and you're done-ski.

Buzz pay creates links that a beer tender can use for the point of sale. It's just a website front end. The actual transactions go to your node. The brewer can treat it like a cash register and empty it out into his Aqua Wallet every night.

I have tried many bitcoin POS systems over the years. BuzzPay is the easieat self-custodial solution I've tried. BTCpayServer is also a great option that's getting easier and easier. It's very easy if you use an API, but anyone with a Start 9 should be able to easily set Alby Hub up. For people who don't want to mess with their own server, Alby Hub has a wonderful self custodial cloud service. The computer is on their hardware, but you own the keys. If you forget your password, they can't help you.

#### Bitcoin Is For Payments

I don't understand why this is such a controversial topic. Here is the first sentence in the white paper written by Satoshi Nakamoto, "A purely peer-to-peer version of electronic cash would allow online payments to be sent directly from one party to another without going through a financial institution." Despite what the $MSTR maxis say, bitcoin is for payments. It is not for tradfi bonds backed by bitcoin and CBDC's with a fake mustache disguised as stablecoins. I like NGU as much as the next guy, but bitcoin was built for payments. If the people use the Bitcoin network for payments, bitcoin remains distributed over a decentralized distributed computer network.

Individuals may lose their keys or get hacked, but these disasters are not catostropic to the network. If 19 million bitcoin end up in the coffers of Coinbase, Coinbase becomes the biggest trusted third party HODLer in the world. Chances are, someone will find a security hole and steal this bitcoin. Even if Coinbase has the best cybersecurity experts in the world, this security would be worthless against a 36 trillion dollar wrench attack. This is the problem bitcoin solves.
"Digital signatures provide part of the solution, but the main benefits are lost if a trusted third party is still required to prevent double-spending. We propose a solution to the double-spending problem using a peer-to-peer network."

Bitcoin is freedom money. It longs to be free. It longs to be held in self-custody. It longs to be spent online. Saving, after-all, is spending on the future. This does not mean you should spend like a typical American consumer. Don't waste sats on crap.

BuzzPay is great in my opinion. I've been looking for an Aqua Wallet replacement for this brewery. I don't even drink, but he sells great beef jerky too. More importantly, I want to help spread these tools in my own community like Johnny Appleaeed spread appleseeds. So I plan to convert one of my old computers into a server. That's the plan.
