Dear Hiring Manager,
My name is Marc, and I am interested in working with a freedom tech company.
I have been exploring and experimenting with server technologies for about 7 years. I started with MyNode, then ran an Umbrel on a Raspberry Pi until it became overwhelmed with services. I have built Start 9 and Umbrel servers by flashing them onto old computers and installing them on Virtual Machines using Docker. I have experience using Portainer to install Umbrel and oover 70 of the services it has available
In March 2022, I began writing under a pseudonym. I have been using the Lightning Network since 2018 (I think, it's a bit of a blur, but I bought a sticker from Blockstream in the very early days). I mined a vanity Nostr key using Rana and started writing under my real name using my real face because it's difficult to sell books and start Bitcoin meetups as a sock puppet.
I have contributed to free and open-source projects, and I volunteered for the Nostr lounge at the Bitcoin 2025 conference I have done some discord coding with plebdevs and vibe coding with Goose using the ppa.ai API. I prefer Nostr over legacy social media, but I realize this is not where the market is yet, and I am willing to go back to the trenches to teach people how to be free on the Internet, get off the Bitcoin derivatives train, and join the commonwealth that Bitcoin is. This commonwealth is for everybody, but there is a catch. You must keep a secret. I am interested in teaching people how to keep this secret a secret.
I am applying for freedom tech roles because I have worked eleven years as an entry-level educator. I am the low-man on the totem pole, with no opportunity for advancement. I don't make many sats, but it has given me the time to learn the tools of freedom.
People treated me like a rockstar when I went to Bitcoin 2025. I explained hashcash to a couple who were actually interested in hearing what I had to say. I want to work in some sor of technical support or technical writing role because I want to teach people who are willing to learn. and interested in what I have to say. I want to write articles and make videos that teach people how to use freedom tech. That's what I do now, but I want to do this full time.
